Scenic Hocking County probably derives its name from the Delaware word “hochhoching,” which means bottle. It covers 422.75 square miles with a population of 28,241, and its county seat is Logan. Hocking has a lot going for it, for taphophiles and legend trippers, anyway. From the mysterious and peculiar Logan Round House to the “haunted” Haydenville Tunnel, located on the outskirts of the Haydenville Cemetery, to the cemeteries themselves, everything in Hocking County is truly unique.
