Hardin County, county seat Kenton, derives its name from General John Hardin of the Revolutionary War. It covers 470.29 square miles with a population of about 31,945. Not exactly a ghostly or legend-trippy hotspot, Hardin does have a reputation for UFO sightings and a few hauntings to its name; for instance, Ohio Northern University and the John Sullivan Museum are both said to be haunted, and Ridgeway Cemetery (supposedly) boasts a haunted grave marker, pyramid-shaped, over a witch’s final resting place. (The Headstoners have yet to locate this grave, let alone verify the claims that it boasts a “creepy poem” and the witch herself roams at night.)

The grave does exist, believe me. It was dug up in 1997 by another person and myself. There is nothing buried there, we dug about six feet and found nothing. I dont remember the entire passage on the pyramid just the last sentence.”prepare for death and follow me”. The womans name was Anna Belle Davis. We got aressted and prosecuted for 2 counts of vandalism. After we dug and found nothing we trashed her gravestone pyramid thing along with probly 10 other stones. So if she was really a witch then she would have delt with us right. Yea ive had really bad luck for the past 12 years in and out of prison. So if she really was what they say I wish shed leave me be.

the witches tombstone has this poem on it,
” remember youth as you pass by, as you are now so once was I, as i am now so must you be, prepare for death and follow me”
I have alot of family buried in that cemetary including my mother, the tombstone in question has a broken tip on it and is in the first row nearest the road
